Summary: Assist in seeking, identifying, and developing new business within sports markets. Assist in coordination of all sports services and management of sporting events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Participate in destination reviews and site visits
Coordinate and oversee the logistics, build out, breakdown, and equipment set-up of all VKSC sports flooring events.
Occasionally inspect, clean, maintain, and perform minor repairs on company-owned sporting equipment to ensure it remains safe, functional, and event-ready.
Assist in preparation of bids and proposals for clients
Effectively communicate research and service needs to proper individuals
Establish rapport with client/planner(s) on accounts, as assigned
Arrange client/planner meetings after the event is contracted and turned
Determine scope of destination services based on services contracted in process of confirming the sale, client/planner needs and level of services offering
Take a leadership role in overall event assistance (preparations and on-site)
Create budgets and maintain all expenditure reports for events
Provide Sr. Director of Sports Commission with updated reports on the status of events
Assist in event execution for all VK owned/created events
Manage interns in their work to support VK mission, as directed by Sports Sales Director.
Maintain a positive working relationship with members of the local hospitality industry, Parks & Recreation groups, and facility partners
Represent Visit Knoxville at selected functions, as directed by the Sr. Director of Sports Commission
Work closely with Sr. Director of Sports Commission and Sports Sales Director to determine event needs and budget during bid process
Determine scope of destination services based on services contracted in process of confirming the sale, client/planner needs, and level of services offered
Distribution, communication, and coordination of all services with other Visit Knoxville personnel
Monitor and make regular updates to event file in database to include, traces, services provided, and expenses incurred
Travel in/out of state to represent VKSC at sports sales pre-promotes, trade shows, blitzes, etc. to assist Sports Sales Director in solicitation of sporting events
Must be a strong team member, exhibit leadership qualities and contribute to the cultivation of a positive work environment for all staff, volunteers, and interns.
Additional duties as assigned by Sr. Director of Sports Commission & Sports Sales Director.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Recruit and supervise interns.
